Strive to do good, but if you cannot do good, at the least, do no harm

If you cannot feed a hundred people then feed just one.
Mother Teresa

Where on earth do you start if you want to help children?
Well, first one has to be clear about the moral equation -
But allowing an innocent child -
To ignore the desperate plight of those children over there as if they are somehow different from our children over here, the ones we cherish and love and care for, is beyond selfishness.
It is doing harm by doing nothing.
So, that said ... were you to want to help a child, just one child .. where could you start?
There are many wonderful charities who do this work of course and you cannot feed the world, so how do you decide?
Well, there is a charity that opens schools and guarantees a meal for those who attend
-
The average cost of feeding one child for a whole year costs just £6.15 through Mary’s Meals
-
Can you afford it? Well, think of this -
Have you any idea what it feels like to go to bed at night knowing that you have fed a hungry child somewhere in the world and that, because of you, they are also going to bed not hungry? Perhaps for the first time in their lives?
And the next day, and the next day, and the next day?
So perhaps you could feed two children a year? .. that would be £12.30 ... a year.
About the same as buying one ice-
...... not much is it ...

Eradicating poverty is not a show of charity -
it is an act of justice.
