Coram Deo

Amnesty International is a movement of ordinary people from around the world standing up for humanity and human rights.
And they are a movement that produces extraordinary results. Prisoners of conscience are released. Death sentences are commuted. Torturers are brought to justice. Governments are persuaded to change their laws and practices.
Would you like to stop someone being tortured?
In many countries of the world there are innocent men and women in prison suffering beatings, torture and finally murder. They receive no medical treatment, and have no one to turn to for help. They are utterly alone and their friends and family usually have no idea where they are or if they do are themselves persecuted if they try to protest.
And this is where Amnesty comes in ...
The idea, like all successful ideas, is a simple one. You join Amnesty from just £7.50 a year.
As a member you respond to the Priority Actions by sending emails or writing letters.
Amnesty even make it easy for you by automating the system and offering specific templates for that action.
Then wherever someone is being badly treated, or tortured, sacks of mail and pages of emails start arriving.
Evil only works in secret so once the light of publicity arrives things happen.
After the first sack of mail arrives at a prison they may stop torture. After the second sack they may give the prisoner clothes and a bath, after the next sack of mail he/she may get to see a doctor. Lives are saved, the innocent freed. This works - it really works and Amnesty even send you a regular update magazine !
There are local groups too! Visit www.Amnesty.org.uk & www.ProtectTheHuman.com for more info’
